Full-year course - requires enrollment in both Fall and Spring semesters and passing grades each semester to earn credit toward UC/CSU a-g requirements.
In a-g Spanish 1 students will be introduced to the culture and history of the Spanish language while actively
developing their ability to comprehend, read, speak, and write in Spanish. Students will be evaluated for
grammar use and structure, comprehension, communication strategies, and cultural awareness. The goal of this
course is to meet the World Language Content Standards for California Public Schools.
There is an Independent Study component that will ensure students gain adequate exposure to Spanish so that they may progress in their ability to communicate. Students will be assigned 3-5 hours of homework per week. Homework will include chapter readings, online activities, video lectures, quizzes, exams, and projects. All lesson requirements, schedules and grades will be posted on our learning management system.
