We aim to bring math to life! Utilizing the Singapore math curriculum, students will delve into 6th-grade standards through a blend of hands-on materials, interactive games, and engaging projects. Additional activities will ensure that concepts are also applied to real-world scenarios.
Our focus is on introducing and familiarizing students with key mathematical concepts rather than mastery. Through dynamic instruction, we aim to cultivate a positive attitude towards math, steering clear of frustration and fostering confidence in our students. By presenting topics in a relatable context and providing opportunities for collaborative practice, we empower students to see the practicality and relevance of mathematics in their daily lives.
At home, students will reinforce concepts covered in class through worksheets. We encourage a balanced approach to homework, with approximately 20 minutes of practice per day to prevent burnout. Video tutorials and answer packets are readily accessible through our Canvas platform. To ensure mastery and accuracy, we strongly recommend that students, with parental guidance if necessary, review and correct their work promptly to prevent the reinforcement of incorrect methods.
Our ultimate goal is to instill a lifelong appreciation for mathematics and equip students with the skills and confidence needed to excel in their mathematical journey. Join us as we embark on a math adventure filled with exploration, discovery, and empowerment!
