Discovering Language Arts (3-4): This Language Arts class is built for students in 3rd and 4th grade. The focus for this course is the foundation of comprehension, sentence structure, and the creation of coherent, supported arguments through reflective, investigative, and report style paragraphs. It will cover the writing and reading common core standards for this age range, while using creative, intriguing topics and approaches that motivate and excite children about literature and writing, both creatively and academically. Expectations include an ability to follow instructions in class, write complete sentences neatly and legibly, and read or finish assignments with independent study at home whenever applicable.To avoid students duplicating course work through 3rd and 4th grade, this class operates on a two year rotating curriculum. Additionally, it meets all applicable standards.
