Description

This course is designed to introduce sixth grade students to historical events and figures through the medium of theater. Through a combination of reading, research, writing, and performance, students will gain a deeper understanding of history and its relevance to the present. The focus of this course will be on Ancient civilizations, including Egypt, Greece, and Rome

Throughout the course, students will read plays, analyze historical sources, and engage in group discussions to deepen their understanding of historical events and figures. Students will also write their own plays, perform scenes from historical plays, and create their own historical characters.

By the end of the course, students will have gained a deeper understanding of history and its relevance to the present through the creative medium of theater. Students will have developed skills in research, critical thinking, and creative expression.

Restrictions

Participants must be entering grades 5 to 6.
