Mastering Language Arts (5-6): This Language Arts class is built for students in 5th and 6th grade. The focus for this course is the exploration of sentence types, and the creation of coherent, supported arguments through reflective, investigative, and report style short essays. It will cover the writing and reading common core standards for this age range, while using creative, intriguing topics and approaches that motivate and excite children about literature and writing. Expectations include an ability to follow instructions in class, write sentences that follow a cohesive idea, and read or finish assignments with independent study at home whenever applicable.
Books will be provided by Instructor:Participants must be entering grades 5 to 6.
