Description

How does the past influence our lives today? What makes a society important? What does a society need to survive and thrive? In this class students will consider elements of  civilization- topics like survival needs, infrastructure, social structure, architecture and government- to create their own civilization. Students will gain a deeper understanding of important concepts in history such as, how ancient discoveries can have an impact on the present day and why every civilization has varying similarities and differences with those that came before and after them. From developing their civilizations' cultural aspects like language, arts, entertainment, education, traditions, and myths- to creating 3D models of cities and environments, students will use creativity and critical thinking to discover what it takes to make a society flourish.
